I am so sad about summer coming to an end. I’ve truly enjoyed this summer with my family. It’s been easier to travel as our son gets older, and we’ve made the most of all the big and little opportunities we’ve had to make memories. I’ve also gotten into a new work routine that’s benefited both my business and mental health!⁣

I recently went home to Concord University for a memorial service honoring my favorite professor, Dr. Ron Burgher.  He was a vivid character, making an impression on everyone who came to know him.  At the service, many said he was either loved or hated - there was no in between.  I believe a third option may have been respecting him, even if his sometimes unusual tactics were misunderstood.

January 2019 Favorites

I’m no different than most folks when it comes to starting fresh in January. I know there’s nothing magical about January 1, as we’re often reminded by my favorite goal-getter Lara Casey. After a busy, often indulgent holiday season, though, I feel the pull for a new year reset.

This year, I have some habits that truly need to change. I am a lifelong procrastinator because I really enjoy that rush of getting something finished under the wire. I’ve yet to miss a deadline! As I get older, though, I’m more aware of how time is passing me by. I could be living a better life if I just took some action on these lingering goals. Enter January and my renewed focus on two key areas: health and wellness and time management. Today, I’m sharing the tools that have helped me succeed this month.
