Things That Made My Summer Easier and More Fun!

I am so sad about summer coming to an end. I’ve truly enjoyed this summer with my family. It’s been easier to travel as our son gets older, and we’ve made the most of all the big and little opportunities we’ve had to make memories. I’ve also gotten into a new work routine that’s benefited both my business and mental health!⁣

⁣With that, I’m sharing a few things that have made my life easier or more fun this summer. ☀️⁣

⁣WORK:  Working at Area 34 Coworking has 100 percent enhanced my output and given me new colleagues and friends.  Shout out to the Putnam County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Putnam County Chamber of Commerce staff members for welcoming me with open arms, and Drip Coffee House for keeping me caffeinated. 👩🏼‍💻⁣

⁣PODCASTS:  A friend encouraged me to listen to Forever 35 Podcast a long time ago and I’m so glad I did. It’s a podcast about taking care of yourself in all aspects of life - personal, career, family, spiritual and more. If you’re a woman of the 80s and 90s who cares about self-improvement, skincare AND pop culture, you will love this podcast. 🎧 ⁣

⁣READING:  The Putnam County Library uses the Libby app and has kept me reading all summer. My two favorite reads were “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Crawford (on audiobook) and “City of Girls” by Elizabeth Gilbert (on ebook). 📚 ⁣

My favorite summer magazines are always Garden and Gun and Southern Living. I love their understanding and promotion of the modern south, travel, food and style recommendations. 🌺⁣

⁣MUSICMaren Morris: Girl (the album) and Lizzo on repeat on Amazon Music. 🎼⁣

⁣PERSONAL:  I am officially a super fan of Supergoop! I’ve been using their products all summer and have not gotten sunburned.  My top three are Matte and Poreless Mineral Sunscreen, Unseen Sunscreen and Defense Refresh Setting Mist. 🧴⁣

I’ve also fallen prey to the scrunchies that I wore for the first time in 1990-93. 😂 I first picked up some cotton Goody brand to ease me back into the craze, and slowly started adding sequin, satin and patterned ones because I love nostalgia and also wearing my hair in a ponytail!

Unfortunately, most scrunchies don’t stay in without a little help, so I use Teleties to hold up my boring mom pony and wrap the scrunchie around it like any good girl of the 90s. The Teleties are so colorful that they don’t always need a scrunchie addition!

Thanks for reading about a few things that made my summer easier and more fun! What are your summer favorites?  Leave me a comment so I can check them out! ✍🏻
